Our Mission

Our mission is to energise businesses that don’t have access to cost effective electricity. This is made possible with the most reliable source of energy we all share: the sun.

We have successfully donated and constructed solar systems in remote areas and continue to give back by looking for opportunities to provide much needed power and education to remote communities.

What is One Sun?

Smart Commercial Solar founded the One Sun initiative as a way to give back. Our team believes solar has the power to transform communities and have a meaningful environmental impact.

In 2018 we donated and installed a 10kW system on the Life Changer Christian College in Vanuatu. The school was crippled by electricity costs, $1,000/month energy bills were absorbing nearly all of the 300 students $10/term tuition fees. Their 10kW system generates 90% of the electricity they need every year and allows them to spend tuition fees on new activities.

In 2019 we partnered with UNSW to exchange knowledge with PV Engineering students and provide support to SOLA5056 Sustainable Energy for Developing Countries.

Whilst 2020 was a difficult year, our team was able to support our customers through the bushfire crisis with access to generators and electrical support. We also offered all PPA customers the ability to pause payments for up to 6 months as a way to relieve financial stress through the COVID pandemic.

How Can You Help?

Every Smart customer will be supporting One Sun. By installing a solar system with us you will automatically contribute to the One Sun initiative.

Each customer has the opportunity to nominate a business that they feel could benefit from the initiative. To register or nominate a deserving business fill in the application form.

This is a way we can all give back and provide support to those who need it most.
