Smart has an existing relationship with Tip Top after working with them on feasibility over the years. This is the first site Tip Top has awarded to Smart with a number of sites in approval status at the moment. They did go out to seek competitive quotes from others to ensure we were providing a cost effective solution. Our proposal was seen as the most attractive due to our competitive pricing as well as overall experience in the solar space.

The projects delivered are a combination of ground mount and rooftop solar.

The rooftop was not suitable in its entirety to carry the weight of the solar system due to a number of internal services already hanging from the roof space. Therefore, we had to split the array on the roof and ground. We also had to ensure that we abided by the councils strict environmental requirements with respect to maintaining existing vegetation around the site.

Therefore, we needed to design the array to ensure shading from trees that were unable to be removed did not impact the performance of the system.
